Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron has succeeded to win second directing Oscar.
The 91st Academy Awards finally granted its Best Directing Award to Alfonso Cuaron for his long dabated film ‘Roma’.
The famous Mexican director first received the award for his space drama ‘Gravity’
Cuaron has won all the major best director awards this season, including the Bafta, Golden Globe and Directors Guild awards. He also acted as cinematographer and writer on Roma, which is based on memories of his own childhood in 1970s Mexico City.
The film follows the lives of a big house residents in Colonia Roma neighborhood. It shows how their lives are tied together by the miseries- all the heartbreaks and betrayals- they must go through.
Alfonso Cuaron is film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, and editor. He is best known for his dramas 'Y Tu Mamá También' (2001), 'Roma' (2018), the fantasy film 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' (2004), the science fiction thrillers 'Children of Men' (2006) and 'Gravity' (2013).
